FOR OTERO

For far too long, the church has been known for what it is against. We want to be known for what we are FOR.

GLOBAL LEADERSHIP SUMMIT

August 8 & 9
The Worship Center Auditorium

The Summit is the premiere leadership event of the year and includes world-class training from diverse speakers. It’s intended for leaders, aspiring leaders and even those who may not consider themselves leaders yet.

The theme of the 2024 Summit is “Design Your Tomorrow.” You know that tomorrow can be better than today. But you may be feeling stuck, tired or frustrated by limitations. The Summit will help you bridge the gap between where you are now and where you want to go.

Commit to a future of growth, because the best of leaders never stop learning!

The Worship Center is hosting GLS to invest in YOU while making a positive impact on OUR community.

Here are just a few of the speakers we can’t wait to learn from:

  • Marcus Buckingham: The co-creator of StrengthsFinder
  • Joni Eareckson Tada: CEO of Joni and Friends and disability advocate
  • Michael : One of today’s most gifted comedians
  • Molly Fletcher: A former sports agent hailed as “the Female Jerry Maguire”

The level of expertise and excellence of the speakers is so high.

Free Ultra Sounds

Stan Richardson is the Executive Director of Operations for Southwest Outreach, and Jane Richardson is the Director of the Pregnancy Help Center, an organization dedicated to helping young women find hope and practical help after getting the results of a pregnancy test. The Pregnancy Help Center exists under the auspices of Southern New Mexico Outreach, Inc. (a nonprofit, 501(c)3), which is a ministry of Youth With A Mission.

“Our passion is to offer hope and a future to women facing an unintended pregnancy,” Jane told us. Stan and Jane have been married for 33 years and moved to Alamogordo in 2004. They are here to help women navigate through their next steps.

They provide free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, and have learning environments that cover topics such as baby care, parenting, relationships, health, and safety.

Because of your generosity, we are able to help cover some of their operating costs, making all of their services free to those facing this pivotal moment in their lives, and showing them that someone is FOR them and their baby.

Operating Costs

Susan Payne is the Executive Director of Love Inc. of Otero County, a mobilization of the Church to transform lives and communities through meeting physical needs to give a leg up, not just a handout. Susan has been with the organization since they opened the doors in 2009. Her dedication to those in need is shared by almost 40 paid and volunteer staff. Love Inc.’s strategy is to be a clearinghouse, bringing together a person’s needs with resources on location or through one of their local partners.

“This ministry model of donation and volunteerism has enabled us to be the very best stewards we can be of the resources that have been entrusted to us.” They provide furniture, household goods, benevolence for rent, a pantry for food, and educational classes (from financial wellness to parenting, gardening, cooking, sewing, and marriage).

Because of your generosity, we are able to help cover some of their operational costs, making it possible to link those in need with an opportunity to transform their lives, by equipping them with the tools needed to move from a place of dependence to a fully independent lifestyle. They are truly FOR you in every aspect.

Volunteer

FOR Otero Food Bank

On the first Thursday of every month, the Worship Center partners with State & Federal Government agencies to be a distribution site for Roadrunner Food Bank. If you are in need of food, please come by! Check-in starts at 9am on the TWC Main Parking Lot. We will load the food directly into your car!

This event can only happen with the help of VOLUNTEERS who give the gift of their time to make this possible. IF you are interested in volunteering please sign-up to let us know you’re coming. THANK YOU!

Volunteers are asked to help for an average of 3-4 hours. Tasks can include un-loading of food, re-packaging of food, loading vehicles and helping with set-up & tear-down.

Our local Salvation Army is in need of food to fill their pantry, so now through June 16th we will be collecting NON-PERISHABLE food items. On Sundays, we will have a trailer parked outside to collect the food. We invite you to join us in filling the pantry!
